Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers wants to get Jonny Evans tied down with a bumped new deal. The 32-year-old runs into the final year of his contract this summer and Rodgers has new contract talks down as a priority.
The former Manchester United defender was picked up for a bargain £3m from West Brom two years ago. Rodgers said: “We’ll see where we’re at in the summer but he’s clearly a player I’d love to keep.“It’s something we and he wanted to have a look at over the summer, as he doesn’t want anything to disrupt our form and game as such, or his form.“It’s something that we’re comfortable with, he’s a brilliant player and I’ve got a really good relationship with Jonny.”Rodgers added: “He knows how I work and has played at the highest level.
