Julian, 56, said: “Suddenly my dad literally disappeared off the face of the planet. “He and Yoko Ono were deeply and publicly in love. “And I felt as if my mum and I had been cast aside.” John had another son, Sean, with Yoko before the former Beatle was shot dead by Mark Chapman in New York in 1980.
Julian told how fellow Beatle Sir Paul McCartney wrote the hit Hey Jude, originally Hey Jules, to console him over his parents’ divorce.
