Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman feels Dion Charles' move to Bolton Wanderers left all parties as winners. Wanderers boss Ian Evatt snapped up the striker from Stanley in the January transfer window, on a three-and-a-half year contract - for a six-figure undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old has gone on to score six goals and assist three in his 20 appearances for the Whites. This afternoon (18/04) he will return to the club where he spent two-and-a-half seasons, with Stanley having brought Charles in from Southport in 2019.

Ahead of the clash, Coleman has given his view on the deal after a resolution was found to the unwanted 'Mexican stand-off' earlier this season.

Coleman told the club website: “Dion is Dion – we see the same Dion playing for Bolton, he scores goals, he never gives defenders a minute on the ball, sometimes he is guilty of losing the ball in important areas and he still doesn’t get the fouls he should get. “He is a very good player, I hope he goes on and has a good career.
