Cambridge United defender Jack Iredale has described his spell at the U's as the most enjoyable time of his career so far after he turned down a fresh contract offer amid a transfer link to Bolton Wanderers.
The 26-year-old was offered a fresh deal by the U's which Cambridge boss Mark Bonner previously said had been on the table for 'months' and expected Iredale to depart.
And it has now been confirmed the defender has now turned down that offer and is poised to leave the Abbey Stadium this summer. The left-back was played out of position at times this season, at centre-back and as a holding midfielder, and has drawn high praise for his performances.
