Taking to his Instagram account after the sad news broke on Tuesday afternoon, Joe called Captain Tom an "inspiration" as he honoured his work in the pandemic.
Both Captain Tom and Joe helped the nation through the first lockdown: with the veteran walking laps of his garden to raise money for the NHS, and Joe keeping kids active with his daily PE videos on YouTube.
