Former Vice President Joe Biden was declared the winner of the Democratic primary in Mississippi as soon as polls closed there on Tuesday.
Primaries are being held Tuesday in five other states, with Michigan seen as a key battleground between Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Biden was also leading in Missouri, though the networks have held off on declaring him the winner there. Biden is looking to take an insurmountable delegate lead over Sanders, who was the frontrunner until Super Tuesday one week ago.
Polls closed at 8 p.m. in Michigan. Sanders issued a statement lamenting the long lines at the polls there, urging voters to stay in line.
