Tottenham and England great Jimmy Greaves who has passed away at the age of 81. The Spurs legend had been ill for some time after suffering a stroke in 2015 which left him wheelchair-bound and with severely impaired speech.
Tottenham said he had died at home on Sunday morning.In a statement, the club said: "We are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of the great Jimmy Greaves, not just Tottenham Hotspur’s record goalscorer but the finest marksman this country has ever seen. "Jimmy passed away at home in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 19 September), aged 81."Greaves was - and remains - the greatest goalscorer in English top-flight history, with 357 goals in 516 matches, well over 70 clear of Newcastle United hero Alan Shearer.
