Jessica Chastain, Charles Roven Set As American Cinematheque Honorees

Jessica Chastain has been set to receive the 38th American Cinematheque Award, with Oppenheimer producer Charles Roven to claim The Power of Cinema Award in a tribute to be held at The Beverly Hilton on December 6.

Chastain is the latest in a line of American Cinematheque Award honorees, going back to 1986. Helen Mirren claimed the prize in 2023, with Ryan Reynolds, Scarlett Johannsson, Spike Lee, Charlize Theron and Bradley Cooper also landing it in recent years.

Established in 2021, the Power of Cinema Award honors an individual or organization whose actions through storytelling have advanced the significance and social relevance of film in today’s modern culture.

Past honorees include Kevin Goetz & Screen Engine, Jason Blum & Blumhouse, Participant, Adam Aron/AMC Theatres, Dolby Laboratories, IMAX, Sue Kroll and Jeffrey Katzenberg.
