Jamie Carragher has explained why Chelsea are not ready to to challenge for the Premier League title, despite their heavy spending.
The Blues are looking to improve on last season’s fourth-place finish, which was 15 points behind runners-up Manchester City and 33 behind champions Liverpool.
And it saw the London side spend over £200m on players such as Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner. But Carragher, who made more than 700 appearances for Liverpool and helped them win the 2005 Champions League, believes there is still a gaping hole in their squad.
