Good Morning Britain was halted for a rare announcement from Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer during the latest episode of the ITV breaking show.
Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley were back on presenting duty on Tuesday (January 21) morning and woke up the nation with the latest headlines from across the globe.
The pair halted the show to go live to Downing Street where Starmer delivered a statement on the Southport attacks after the government launched a public inquiry after killer Axel Rudakubana pleaded guilty to murdering three young girls.
Rudakubana, who was 17 at the time of the killings, had been referred to the Prevent programme three times amid a series of missed opportunities to stop him from carrying out the attack on July 29 last year.
