It's A Sin star Nathaniel Hall has spoken about the stigma surrounding HIV and being diagnosed at the age of 17. The actor stars in the new Channel 4 drama series from writer Russell T.
Davies, which follows a group of friends whose lives are changed forever by the AIDS crisis that hit the UK in the 1980s. Nathaniel himself, however, knows the experience of being HIV positive firsthand.
He told Attitude in 2019: "It was like being hit by a truck. I was told at the time that I had a prognosis of 37 years. That was so hard to hear, to have a date on it." The actor revealed that he kept his diagnosis a secret from many of his loved ones for 14 years. "I was living with so much fear and stigma, self-hatred and shame," he revealed.
