JK Rowling has sparked furious outrage online once again after posting a series of ‘anti-trans’ tweets.The Harry Potter author’s fresh controversy began when she commented on story with a headline that read: ‘Opinion: Creating a more equal post-COVID-19 world for people who menstruate.’Taking issue with the phrasing, JK wrote: ‘”People who menstruate”.

I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?’Her remark was immediately hit by a backlash, with many branding the writer transphobic and explaining that it’s not just cis-gender women who mensturate.

This prompted JK to post again.‘If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is.
