Ariana DeBose took home the SAG Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her turn in Steven Spielberg’s on Sunday night—an accolade that is helping to break the glass ceiling for queer Afro Latinas in Hollywood. She is the first openly queer woman of color to win an individual film Screen Actors Guild Award.

Succession had a big night at the 2022 SAG Awards, taking home the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series prize at the annual awards show. Star Brian Cox used the spotlight to voice support for actors, actresses and other talent in Ukraine and Russia, who oppose the ongoing invasion.
