Dame Sarah Storey Originally from Salford, Stockport-based athlete Dame Sarah Storey is Great Britain's most successful female Paralympian of all time.
She made her name as a swimmer, winning five Paralympic gold medals and six world championship titles. She switched to cycling in 2005 and continued to succeed in both road and track racing, going on to win 14 gold medals in total - more than any other woman before her.
