The Simpsons has a history of predicting world events and it turns out the show correctly forecast the coronavirus back in 1993 when a killer flu hit Springfield.
The cartoon comedy’s showrunner Mike Reiss sent fans into a frenzy after he shared a video of the 21st episode from the show's fourth season.
The episode features Springfield residents become infected with a deadly virus from Japan, dubbed the Osaka Flu. Reiss wrote: "The whole 'Simpsons predicted it' thing is silly, but The Simpsons predicted it." The episode showed Homer and Marge along with the rest of Springfield residents become addicted to juicing, before ordering snazzy blenders from Japan.
