already won an award for its striking design before the build is even completed. The £35m building is currently being constructed just off Great Ancoats Street, where it will stand at 14 storeys tall on completion.Between the huge white 'blocks' will be enormous planters to add some much-needed greenery to this industrial corner of the city centre.

It's being developed by Capital & Centric, whose property developer boss Tim Heatley featured heavily in the recent Manctopia documentary series.

He said he hopes the 275-room hotel will trigger a reaction in people who pass by and put Manchester on an international platform with its architecture.The four-star hotel, which is due to open in 2022, will make up part of Capital & Centric's new.
