Tyson Fury announced on May 16 that the Anthony Joshua fight was “100 per cent on” for August 14 there was some surprise from those involved in the negotiations.Many knew the deal for the WBC heavyweight champion to face WBA, IBF and WBO title holder Joshua still had a few minor snags to be sorted.The fact even Joshua remained silent at this point suggests he knew the bout wasn't there just yet but it was close.
Within 24 hours the fight would be heading for ruin.The arbitration case with Deontay Wilder which was due to be decided upon on May 17.Fury's US promoter Bob Arum had eased fears for months over it.
