But away from fame, the actress, 59, tends to keep her life out of the spotlight, however, she is known to be dating her co-star from the hugely popular comedy series.
Claire hails from Hemel Hempstead and dreamt of becoming an actress from a young age, despite describing herself as a super shy child.
She told the Independent in 2009: "It was almost debilitating." Luckily, the nerves seemed to disappear when it came to performing and after studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, she went on to the Royal Shakespeare Company.
