Gogglebox's George Gilbey's life off-screen including beloved daughter after tragic death

Gogglebox fans were left shocked by the untimely and tragic passing of former cast member George Gilbey. On Wednesday, 27 March 2024, Essex Police responded to an accident "in which a man who was working at height had fallen and sustained an injury." Police later confirmed that a man in his 40s had been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.

Channel 4 also released a statement following the incident which read: "George was part of the Gogglebox family for eight series alongside his mum Linda and step-dad Pete. "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Linda, and George's family and friends at this very sad time.The family have asked for privacy." George is best known for his stints in the hit reality show Gogglebox, in which he originally appeared alongside his mother Linda and late stepfather, Pete McGarry, who died in 2021 from bowel cancer, aged 71.
