Nine years ago, OK! was invited to his characterful Gothic abode in the capital. Resplendent with colourful paintings, religious artefacts and quirky memorabilia – including a cast of David Bowie’s face – it was every bit as flamboyant as his 80s pop star persona.
Renowned for his waspish wit, George, now 58, was in fact a congenial host, welcoming us in and whipping off his sequinned hat to give us a glimpse of his heavily tattooed scalp.
