Inside birth of Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds' baby with PM at hospital side

Boris Johnson was at Carrie Symonds' side throughout the birth of their first baby together, it is understood. It is the sixth child for Prime Minister Mr Johnson, 55, and the first for Ms Symonds, 32.

Where Ms Symonds welcomed their "healthy" baby boy has not been revealed, but it's believed their son was not born at St Thomas' Hospital, where the PM recently battled coronavirus in intensive care.

The pair did however opt for an NHS hospital rather than a private London one such as the Lindo Wing, in Paddington, favoured by Royals, including Kate Middleton and Prince William.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also reportedly chose the plush Portland Hospital to welcome their son Archie Harrison. But Mr Johnson has followed in the footsteps of
