Most parents will be seeing the lockdown as a way to spend more time with their children. But for one dad, the weeks spent isolated at home with his family have been particularly precious.
On Father’s Day last year, Ben Wolfenden was recovering in an intensive care unit after having a life-saving double lung transplant.
Ben, who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth, was told he would probably never see his 30th birthday. But the 37-year-old has defied his doctors’ prognoses and gone on to get married, start a family and set up his own business.
Despite his determined approach to life, Ben was dealt a near-fatal blow last February when a bout of flu resulted in him being blue-lighted to hospital.
