Tycoons fly out for the promise of fresh mountain air, recovery and not least, privacy. I’ve heard tales of viciously tickly colonics, painful therapeutic breakthroughs and the dizzying struggle of calorie deprivation (“but when you get to day seven, it’s euphoric!”).
So too have I seen elderly women in bandages, their brand new faces stretched back, and frail guests who are said to have checked in for the rest of their days.
All this, among the mountain mist, can be surreal. But in recent years, a gaggle of mini medispas have opened in London, offering a less extreme but equally detailed experience – a daycare edition.
