When it comes to losing weight, two of the most important components are diet and exercise. However, it has been argued that the time at which you eat your meals can also be a crucial part in dropping the weight.Lucy Nield, 60, says she has always been a yo-yo dieter, but one thing she found that helped was the intermittent fasting recommended by Michael Mosley's diet plan The Fast 800.In September 2022, Lucy weighed 13 stone 8lbs - but in just under a year, she has lost almost three stone, taking her to under 11 stone.

She told the Mirror she signed up for the Fast 800 programme after noticing she had put on weight in holiday photos. The dieter from Fleet, Hampshire, has admitted that she has always struggled to be satisfied with her weight and tried many well-known diets to shed the pounds. However, Lucy noticed during last summer that she was putting weight on quicker than before. She told the Mirror: "I was still exercising gently, but it was limited because I had problems with my hip and this injury definitely impacted my mood, as well as my mobility. "To counteract that low mood, I found I ate and drank a little more than normal and without the exercise, I began to put on weight. "Last summer, my husband and I went away and had a wonderful time, but when I got back, I looked at some of the photographs and I thought, 'oh my goodness, I've really put on weight'."After this shock at her weight, Lucy decided to jump into action, searching online for a weight loss programme that would work this time around. She purchased Michael Mosley's book - The Fast 800 - and also signed up to the programme on the doctor's website.
