Thousands of Christmas shoppers have flocked to stores and shopping centres in a desperate last minute dash before they are forced to close their doors in new tougher coronavirus rules.
Boris Johnson announced on Saturday afternoon that London and parts of the South East would be plunged into a new Tier 4 to tackle rising infection rates.
