'How To Train Your Dragon' Live-Action Sequel Confirmed, Release Date Revealed!
justjared.comBig How To Train Your Dragon news just dropped! During the Universal Pictures presentation at 2025 CinemaCon on Wednesday afternoon (April 2) at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, it was announced the a sequel is already in the works.
The news comes months ahead of the release of the first live-action adaptation! Keep reading to find out more… Per Variety, the second installment is currently slated to be released in theaters on June 11, 2027, two years after the first movie. “We are so excited to give your theaters a big summer title in two years time,” writer/director Dean DeBlois said while on stage.
Stars Gerard Butler and Nico Parker were in attendance at the event in Las Vegas, where they also attended a screening of the first live-action movie that morning.
