Leicester City’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has hurt in more ways than one. Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes collapsed in the second half of the season to register just six wins in their final 23 fixtures having won 12 of their first 16 in the Premier League.
That disappointment has now led to one of their best players pushing for a move away, with Ben Chilwell set to join up with Frank Lampard and Chelsea thanks to their final position of fourth.
Former Liverpool and Celtic boss Rodgers insisted as recently as June that the left-back was not for sale this summer, stating that there was “absolutely no need” for the club to sell.
