United suffered their second away defeat of the season in dramatic fashion at the Emirates, losing 3-1 despite thinking they were 2-1 up as late as the 89th minute.
Alejandro Garnacho looked to have grabbed the late winner when he raced through and finished past Aaron Ramsdale, but a lengthy VAR review adjudged him to be marginally offside.
The goal was ruled out and Arsenal, seemingly buoyed by the decision, went up the other end to take all three points themselves.
