Horror day on Greater Manchester's roads as woman dies and car flips in morning of chaos
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA number of motorways and roads across Greater Manchester are shut this morning - causing traffic chaos through the rush-hour.
A stretch of the M6 motorway near Wigan has been closed off since the early hours. Emergency crews were called to the motorway between junction 27 and 26 after 'reports of a person falling from a bridge', according to GMP Traffic.
Tragically, a woman was found dead at the scene. Accident investigation work is ongoing on the scene with the southbound stretch of the motorway remaining fully shut this morning. A stretch of the M66 is also shut this morning following an 'accident' on the northbound side between junction one for Ramsbottom to the A56.
