Witnesses have told how a 'dangerous and out of control' dog was shot dead by police marksmen after a woman was bitten in Oldham.
A man has been arrested following the attack in Moorside on Sunday morning. Armed police and a police helicopter were called to the scene after reports two dogs were 'running loose' around the estate.
They then attacked a woman, who was later taken to hospital with bite injuries, and mauled her dog, thought to be a cockapoo.
Pictures from the scene show two dogs - which appear to be an Alsatian/husky type cross and large bulldog-type breed - roaming loose without leads on.
