manchestereveningnews.co.ukA 12-year-old has been arrested following an attack on a schoolgirl at a tram stop in south Manchester. Horrifying video footage captured a girl screaming as she was kicked in the face at the Moor Road tram stop in Wythenshawe on Tuesday (September 12).
The clip - which was shared widely on Snapchat - showed the victim lying on the floor as she was attacked by another girl. The Manchester Evening News understands both students attend Dixons Brooklands Academy.
In an update issued today (September 14), Greater Manchester Police said a 12-year-old girl has since been arrested in connection with the attack. J oin our WhatsAp p Top Stories and Breaking News group by clicking this link . She was arrested on suspicion of assault, police said.
She has been bailed while the investigation continues. The victim is being supported by specialist officers. Patrols have also been stepped up in the local area.
