Two police officers were attacked after they stopped a car for a drug search in Hulme. Plain-clothed officers stopped the vehicle yesterday (Sunday) as the two people inside - a man and a woman - were 'believed to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs', police said.
But the man tried to 'fight his way out of the search' and both officers were assaulted on the roadside. Police said they were not seriously injured.

He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply, obstructing a constable in the execution of their duties and assaulting an emergency worker.
