Residents were told to leave their homes moments after fire crews descended on a Greater Manchester street. Police, fire crews and ambulances all pulled up near to May Walk in Partington, Trafford, where a man was pronounced dead this morning (July 23).

His death is being treated as non-suspicious by Greater Manchester Police. Emergency services were joined by Cadent gas engineers as properties on the small street, at the end of Larch Road, were cordoned off by officers.

Some neighbours were told to flee their homes following a test for 'carbon monoxide'. One resident told the Manchester Evening News: "I got a message saying 'what's going on outside your house?'.
