Hollyoaks star Rachel Adedeji is set to make a huge TV comeback in upcoming series, Champion.Rachel was announced as the latest cast member in the BBC and Netflix musical drama that already has a star-studded cast.The series will reportedly be "a celebration of Black music" and is currently in production.READ MORE: A Place in the Sun's Danni Menzies spotted leaving awards bash with Made in Chelsea hunkRachel is set to be showing off her incredible singing abilities and will star against Hollyoaks co-star Karl Collins.Rachel came ninth on X Factor back in 2009 and took on the role as Lisa Loveday in Hollyoaks until things turned sour and she accused the soap of being “performative and disingenuous.”She called for the show to ensure that “systematic changes be put into practice”.Her comments led to an investigation and more of her co-stars spoke out in support of Rachel.The soap issued a statement stating that they had a zero tolerance policy towards racism.The statement read: "Hollyoaks has zero tolerance on racism.

We are taking Rachel Adedeji's comments extremely seriously and are investigating."Singer Ray BLK, Top Boy actor Malcolm Kamulete and Doctor Who legend Jo Martin are set to star in the eight-part show, Champion, alongside Rachel.Best-selling author Candice Carty-Williams is behind the story of the series, which will apparently follow a sibling rivalry.Candice has said Champion will be "a celebration of Black music and of a Black family, however fragmented that family might be, and I can't wait for the world to see their story."Set in South London, the show will feature original music from the top musicians across the UK, with each episode being around 45 minutes long.Champion is set to air on BBC One and BBC.
