A spokesperson for the show, where Rachel has played Lisa Loveday for four years, said they were 'saddened' by her decision.
Last week the former X Factor star blasted a Hollyoaks social media post about the Black Lives Matter movement. Rachel, 28, said their response wasn't progressive enough and she then shared some of the injustices she claimed to have experienced on set.
The show insisted it had "zero tolerance" to racism and outlined its new plan of action including an urgent review into the allegations.
