Remote jury centres used in High Court cases will be extended in an attempt to restart sheriff trials across Scotland.A High Court jury has already begin sitting from an Odean cinema at an Edinburgh retail park after major delays and backlog caused by the coronavirus lockdown.The Scottish Government has now provided £6.5 million for 18 jury trial courts to operate remotely in Scotland’s six Sheriffdoms.Venues are being scouted but centres for Lothian and Borders and the Glasgow and Strathkelvin regions are expected to be in place by December, with the rest following early next year.The Fort Kinnaird Odean jury was established following recommendations by Lady Dorrian’s Restarting Solemn Trials Working Group.She said: "The innovative.
