More heavy rain is set to lash Greater Manchester over the weekend, with the Met Office also predicting a chance of thunderstorms as the drab start to the school summer holidays continues.
Forecasters have predicted a mixed bag weather-wise, but say the downpours are here to stay over the next few days. Showers are forecast to punctuate Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a Met Office spokesman describing them as 'heavy' at times, together with some outbreaks of sunshine. Thursday's forecast shows a rainy start to the day which should gradually clear by lunchtime, with milder, dry conditions expected from lunchtime and highs of 19C.
It's a similar story on Friday, with on-off showers expected throughout the day. A Met Office spokesman said of Friday: "Often fairly cloudy skies, with occasional bright or sunny intervals.
Staying generally dry, although one or two light showers may develop. Feeling fairly warm in any brightness with light winds.
