There have been scenes of horror on the streets of Greater Manchester this week, with three people killed in road collisions, a boy shot in the chest and a man 'cut with a weapon' outside a pub.
Among the spate of incidents, a pedestrian was also left seriously injured after being hit by a motorbike, a man was stabbed in the city centre and terrified residents hid inside as gunman opened fire on a street in Levenshulme.
On Thursday (August 10) a residential street in Stretford became a major crime scene after a 16-year-old boy was shot in the chest. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, with a large cordon put in place and an investigation launched by Greater Manchester Police.
The force said the teenage boy was shot in the chest 'at close range' on Langdale Avenue at around 4.30pm and was believed to have been 'attacked by approximately 14 males' while children were playing in the street.
