Another 20 people have died at Greater Manchester Hospitals having contracted coronavirus. It is the lowest 24-hour figure for the region in three weeks.
But policitians have urged some caution over the figures, stressing deaths registered at the weekend tend to be relatively low.
Fewer hospital staff work Saturday and Sundays, which can lead to a drop in the number of recorded fatalities. At least 1,191 people have died at Greater Manchester hospitals having contracted COVID-19.
Sunday's data shows the lowest daily figure for the region since April 5, when the NHS said another 15 lives had been lost. Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust recorded the highest rise in deaths on Sunday, with another five patients killed by the virus.
