Temperatures plunged below zero again last night. And the bad news it looks like the big freeze is here to stay for a bit longer.
A yellow weather warning for snow and ice, covering the bulk of Greater Manchester, has been issued. It runs from 6pm today (Saturday) until noon tomorrow.
The warning covers every Greater Manchester borough except Wigan, Bolton, and Bury. "Snow and ice this evening and into Sunday morning may lead to some disruption to transport and infrastructure," said the Met Office. Temperatures are tipped to continue to fall over the weekend, with several sporting events cancelled amid snowfall and icy conditions.
