it's hard to imagine that it could ever be usurped". For anyone too young to remember, Mr Blobby was the gelatinous pink sidekick of Noel Edmunds on his hugely successful TV show Noel's House Party.
In the 1990s, Noel's House Party was the pinnacle of Saturday Night television, making a huge star out of the show's ponderous pink lummox (Mr Blobby, not Noel).
Set in a large house in the fictional village of Crinkley Bottom, Mr Blobby was the show's comic relief, communicating only the word 'blobby' over-and-over as he crashed into everything around him.
