The NHS has issued an urgent warning as strikes hit Greater Manchester hospitals again from today with staff facing record demand across emergency care.
Patients are being urged to choose NHS services wisely as junior doctors across the region walk out from 7am today (December 20) until 7am on Saturday (December 23).
The widespread disruption will see services ‘stretched’ over the festive period, typically the busiest time of year for the health service, with almost all routine care impacted.
An extra admin burden and difficulties with discharging patients are also expected.
