The Met Office has predicted that the UK will get a White Christmas this year - but not for many. According to the latest forecast, snow is set to fall over high ground in the far north of Scotland on Christmas Day, but for the majority of the UK it'll be just another rainy day.
The weather agency has published its latest forecast for the long weekend and it's looking set to be wet and windy over the Christmas period.
Following a windy day for most on Thursday, further rain is likely with snow reserved for the far north, the Met Office said. Storm Pia, which was named by the Danish Met Institute, is gradually moving towards mainland Europe, where its impacts are expected to be more severe.
In the UK, winds will ease for many on Thursday afternoon, with further wet weather likely for some, especially in western areas.
