Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has suggested the postponement of the game against Manchester United happened because “something went off we don’t know about”.
The Reds missed out on their chance to get into a European spot as their clash with their rivals was called off for another day.
It was down to a protest by Red Devils fans ,which saw a group of approximately 200 break into Old Trafford as they vented their fury at the Glazers.
A statement from United said the match had been postponed “due to safety and security considerations around the protest today”.But Souness, who won five First Division titles at Anfield as a player, suggested another incident could have been behind the postponement.
