Golden Globes is still looking for a host — Chris Rock and more have refused to take on gig: report

The 2024 Golden Globes announced the nominations on Monday, but one major category was missing: host.The ceremony is fast approaching, set for Jan.

7 (8 p.m. on CBS), and there’s been no celeb emcee announced. Chris Rock has declined the offer to host, along with four other A-list comedians, according to CNN.

Rock could be gun-shy after he infamously got slapped on live TV by Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars. But comedian and “Beef” star Ali Wong also was approached and declined the gig, sources told the outlet, and Will Arnett, Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman, who co-host the podcast “SmartLess,” reportedly turned down a joint offer to host too.

Regarding the possibility of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, who successfully co-hosted the Golden Globes four times in the past, “They would never do it (again),” a source close to Poehler and Fey told the outlet. “They’re done.”This year’s Golden Globes will likely be attended by Jennifer Aniston, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert DeNiro, Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Selena Gomez and Emma Stone, among other big name stars.
