Glasgow has been put under new lockdown restrictions after spike in the number of coronavirus infections. Announcing the measures at a press conference this evening, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the new measures will stay in place for two weeks They apply to the City of Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire and mean households won't be able to visit each other from midnight tonight.

It comes after todays figures showed 154 new cases of coronavirus in Scotland. That included 66 positive cases were confirmed in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board overnight.

Speaking earlier, Ms Sturgeon told the Scottish Parliament the increase of cases in Glasgow is "causing some concern". Lanarkshire has seen an increase of 22
