A young teen 'trapped' in the body of an 80-year-old needs two new knees after falling victim to rare juvenile arthritis . Libby Smith, 16, is in such constant pain from juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) that she even considered undergoing a bone marrow transplant to 're-set' her immune system.
The condition eats away at Libby's cartilage meaning everyday tasks such as walking, cutting up food and even brushing her hair are now impossible.
She has been forced to rely on her parents Diane Smith, 40, and Adrian Smith, 45, for help. The teenager had aspirations to become a professional dancer or swimmer was cruelly snatched away after the devastating diagnosis when she was aged five after complaining of aching legs.
