The new movie Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret is hitting theaters this weekend and we caught up with rising star Abby Ryder Fortson to learn more about her! Abby plays the title role in the big-screen adaptation of the classic Judy Blume novel.
11-year-old Margaret is uprooted from her life in New York City for the suburbs of New Jersey, going through the messy and tumultuous throes of puberty with new friends in a new school.
She relies on her mother, Barbara (Rachel McAdams), who is also struggling to adjust to life outside the big city, and her adoring grandmother, Sylvia (Kathy Bates), who isn’t happy they moved away and likes to remind them every chance she gets. Abby was previously seen as Cassie Lang in the first two Ant-Man movies and as Sophie Pierson in the HBO series Togetherness.
Get to know Abby with 10 Fun Facts below! I’m a huge reader and love reading all kinds of books from sci-fi to contemporary to critical thought essays to poetry to vintage gothic literature.
