Georgia Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger suggested Tuesday that failures related to his party’s campaign strategy contributed to President-elect Joe Biden’s surprise victory over President Trump in the state.

Speaking on a C-SPAN virtual forum, the Republican said he is "still a conservative Republican" despite intense criticism from President Trump and other GOP leaders who questioned his handling of the state’s election proceedings.The Georgia secretary of state argued that the Trump campaign failed to connect with voters in cities, earning less votes in metro regions than other Republican candidates for office. "[Trump] did well in many of the rural areas, but he didn’t do well in the metro region.
