Neville's allegiances to his former side are no secret, and he and fellow Sky Sports pundit and Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher share a healthy on-screen rivalry in which they regularly go toe-to-toe over matters concerning their ex-teams.
Following kick-off at Stamford Bridge main commentator Martin Tyler and Neville were discussing Liverpool's signing of Thiago Alcantara, who joined the Reds in a £27m move from Bayern Munich on Friday.
Tyler remarked that the Spanish midfielder speaks "excellent English" - to which Neville couldn't resist a reply of "that won't help him
